ISLAMABAD, Jul 31 (APP): Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Wednesday inaugurated the new building of Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (PEEF) in Sector H/9-4, Islamabad.
Federal Secretary Education Mohiyuddin Ahmad Wani, CEO PEEF Syeda Hajra Sohail, CS Murad Shoaib, Manager Scholarship Majeed Asif Shaikh, Manager MIS Mazhar Amir, PEEF Board Members and others participated in the ceremony.
Before the inauguration ceremony, the federal minister also planted a sapling in the yard of the building during the plantation campaign of PEEF.
More than 50 saplings will be planted in the first phase of the plantation campaign on behalf of PEEF.
The federal minister inspected various departments of the institution and also visited the day care center and library in the new building.
On this occasion, CEO PEEF, Syeda Hajra Sohail briefed the Federal Minister about the various scholarship programs of the institution.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that special measures are being taken for the education sector.
Funds allocated for the promotion of education and training have been increased several times, which is showing better results, he added.
He appreciated the provision of scholarships to meritorious and needy poor students on behalf of PEEF.
Dr. Khalid Maqbool said that provision of education on modern lines and especially professional training for the youth is an important need of the hour. The youth can be made capable of playing their role in the country’s economy by giving them technical training in modern sciences.
He said that the provision of scholarships in the fields of tourism, health, climate change, IT and artificial intelligence by PEEF is the best initiative in this regard.
On this occasion, Syeda Hajra Sohail, CEO PEEF said that Pakistan Education Endowment Fund is in the field with determination to eradicate poverty and unemployment from the country.
“We are engaged in the struggle to provide quality education to the youth, especially the poor students, to enable them to earn dignified employment” she added.
It is worth mentioning here that so far PEEF has provided scholarship to more than 14000 students. These young people are not only getting employment opportunities in the country but also going abroad and enlighting the name of the country and nation.
