IHC disposes off plea regarding recovery of PTI’s activist


ISLAMABAD, Jul 22 (APP): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday disposed off a petition regarding the recovery of PTI media coordinator Ahmed Janjua after he was produced before anti-terrorism court.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard a petition moved by Farhana Barlas, the wife of Ahmed Janjuar, seeking recovery of her husband.

The petitioner has adopted the stance that some persons have forcibly lifted her husband from their house on July 20. The court attorney general of Pakistan and police officials to answer on the matter.

After a recession, Additional Attorney General Munawar Dogal appeared before the court. Prosecutor General Islamabad informed the court that an FIR under Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) was registered against Ahmed Janjua and the concern court had granted his seven-day physical remand.

The bench remarked that the police had disclosed the arrest of Ahmed Janjua and now the petitioner could move to the relevant forum for relief. The court allowed the wife of Mr. Junjua to meet him and disposed off the petition.
