ISLAMABAD, Jul 25 (APP):Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Aamer Farooq on Thursday rejected the request to recuse from bench hearing case against the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder and Bushra Bibi in new toshakhana case.
The chief justice remarked that this was not a way as there was a proper procedure for this.
A two-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Aamer Farooq heard the petition against the arrest of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi.
During the hearing, Barrister Salman Safdar’s associate lawyer Intizar Hussain Panjutha of PTI founder filed a reference against Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and requested the court to recuse the Chief Justice from the hearing of this case.
The chief justice remarked that this was not a reason as a new trend could be started due to this. He asked the lawyer to convey Barrister Salman Safdar to give arguments on merit in the said case.
Further hearing of the case was then adjourned till next week.
