Govt earmarks Rs5500mln for Information & Broadcasting division in PSDP 2024-25


ISLAMABAD, Jun 12 (APP): The government has earmarked a sum of Rs 5,500 million for five ongoing and three new projects of the Information and Broadcasting sector in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the financial year 2024-25.
Out of the total allocation, an amount of Rs 5,229 million was allocated for the ongoing schemes, while Rs 270.791 million  were earmarked for the new ones, said a budgetary document released on Wednesday.
           Under the ongoing schemes, an amount of Rs 405 million has been specified for Central Monitoring Unit, Rs 500 million for National Information Media Archival Repository (NIMAR), Rs 550 million for Rehabilitation of Medium Wave Services from Khairpur,  Rs 324 million for the establishment of National Film Production Institute at PTV Academy, and above all an amount of Rs 3,450 million allocated to the upgradation of HPT Rawat, transmitting station by installing 1000 KW DRM-enabled MW transmitter.
          Under the new schemes, an amount of Rs 100.791 million earmarked for the establishment of Sautul Quran FM Network Phase-III for 30 more cities, Rs 100 million for the Citizen Collaboration Facilitation Center and Rs 70 million for setting up National Communication and Strategy Unit in the country.
